Woo, due to the weather, I got a day off from work today. How do I celebrate? I go on a small shopping spree at House of James, mainly CDs. I got Switchfoot - The Beautiful Letdown (which, as a CD, it isn't), Casting Crowns's self-titled album (really good), and something that surprised me. I got Denver and the Mile High Orchestra - Swing! (the exclamation mark is part of the title, but it could go either way) The last jazz CD I got was a bit of a disappointment; not enough swing, too much Kenny G-ish smooth jazz, which isn't bad, just not what I was looking for. This, however, is awesome, because it's a big band, so it kinda has to be swing, and it's really good swing to boot. The cool part is unlike most old jazz, the lyrics aren't about love and all that mushy stuff, it's about God and Christianity (except for the last song, which is about Indiana. I don't know why.) You've got the slow stuff (but not much), the medium stuff, and some really good fast stuff (including some 50s rock and roll), and the obligatory 12-bar blues. And their guitar player rocks. If you're a jazz fan, I highly recommend it.

Keeping on the music track, Guitar Pro 5 is out for Mac now. This is, like, the best day ever.

I should lend you my The W's CD. It's Christian swing, and what you described kind of reminds me of it.
