My computer science exam last night went fine. I didn't need the full three hours. I don't think I got 100, but I do think I got pretty close (around 90, maybe). Now I've got a huge break until my next one (mech on the 15th).

Oh, I'm also discovering some Mac software that I'm amazed I haven't discovered sooner. Namely, Quicksilver, Growl, and a Growl-compatible feedreader (I use RSS Menu, because it works a lot like Gmail Notifier does). Quicksilver's amazing because it puts almost everything your computer can do into a nice little shortcut window. It's great for controlling iTunes (I have that script I wrote assigned to a shortcut key I can access anytime) and opening apps that I don't use often and aren't in the dock quickly, among other things.

Growl is great because it saves you from having to check things all the time. It's notification software, and it works with a lot of applications, like a feedreader, Skype, or Quicksilver (it lets me know whenever a track changes in iTunes). For example, if someone logs into Skype, now not only does it make the sound, a little message pops up telling me who logged in. Or if there's an update to one of the feeds I follow (Slashdot, per se), it tells me. It saves me from having to go to the website and check it myself, and it saves me a lot of time.

Oh, and I've discovered a new site. It's called Scrabulous, and it's just an online Scrabble service, on the same line as Yahoo Games or Pogo. Now I can get all the Scrabble I want for free. If you want to challenge me just send me an email or catch me on MSN or something. My only problem with it is that there's no 3 or 4 player support yet, so it's only one-on-one. But it's still awesome. I think I've used up all my tiles in one word three or 4 times already, which is way more regular than it used to be. The games can be quick (I like to play with 15 minutes each side and you get 10 extra seconds every move), but it's really fun. It lets you think on your feet.
