I got my first taste of second term courses today.
CSC 160, the one course I was really looking forward to, let me down a little. I was under the impression that we'd be learning C++ for the course, when really it was just C, which really bugs me, because we just spent last semester learning an object-oriented language (which, by the way, is a prerequisite for the course), and it feels like we're taking a step back. That being said, C gives the user a lot of control, it's just a bit harder to pick up. Also, the professor is okay. The nice thing is my lab block only has 8 people in it, myself included
Elec 199 looks interesting. I've heard nightmare stories about the prof, but the material looks really interesting. One project we might end up doing is about sound amplification, and we cover cryptography in one of our lectures.
Math 101 should be interesting. The professor is pretty good, and it's a fairly small class (less than 100 people, I think). The only gripe I have with it is that it's 4:30 till 6, and that's not such a big deal to me.
Anyway, that's the first half of my classes. More tomorrow.
