Whistler

I've just had the best mountain trip I've ever had in my life. I knew things were going to be great when I didn't fall getting off the chair lift (unlike what happened the last time I went skiing at Hemlock). Well, the runs there are awesome. I was on Blackcomb both Saturday and Sunday, and it felt really good once I got into it. Saturday I did the bunny hill (which is about as long as Hemlock's yellow lift), then went up the Wizard lift. You know it's great when it takes you 20 minutes to get all the way down (without falling). And there's so many paths to take out there (so many I ended up taking a blue intermediate path by mistake once). Anyway, at 3:30, the main lift closes, so my brother and me went down the bunny hill, and then I felt that adrenaline rush. Eventually it got to the point where we were racing each other down the hill (it was practically empty, so it was sorta safe), and it felt really, really great. We ended up going down the whole hill in a minute and fifteen seconds. It rocked.

Sunday we went up the Solar Coaster and it took a whole hour to get down. Part of it was me trying to stay in control and not go too fast (and sometimes falling because of it), but part of it is that it takes so long to get all the way down. You just have to watch out for the one part where if you go too far to the left on a fairly thin path, you end up going down a black diamond route.

Anyway, I'm back at UVic now, and I'm really tired, so I should go to bed soon.
