I get my electric guitar from home today. Yay!

Relient K's new album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago, came out today, so I went to pick it up. Just listening to the first few tracks (and even the album cover and song titles) gives me the impression that it's a lot harder/darker than their previous albums. I kinda miss the simple happy punk-ness that Two Lefts Don't Make a Right had. Maybe after a few plays I'll like it more.

edit: Okay, I finished listening to it. It gets a bit happier as the album goes on. It's like the transition from Two Lefts to mmhmm, except more so. The first (especially the lyrics) and last tracks seems very Beatles-inspired musically, and it's a treat to hear Jon Foreman from Switchfoot sing at the end of it. I also love the intro to "I Need You." I love the dissonant chord in the intro and the fact that it's so emphasized it sounds good. Best track? "Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care." Easily. It's so awesome. Anything else I say will spoil it, though.

Haha, that song is awesome (I don't have the CD yet, but the whole thing is on their myspace right now)

Most of it, at least. I didn't see the 11-minute epic "Deathbed" (when I saw the track length, I thought there would be a hidden track at the end). I like some of the stuff they did to it, though. Reminds me of the Beatles (around Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour), and when I heard the end, I swear I was listening to a Switchfoot song. But maybe that's just because Jon was singing.
