I've been thinking. Not serious thinking, just random thinking. Well, hockey playoffs are going along right now, and the Canucks just won in double overtime (HA!) but it kinda got me thinking: what if other kinds of competitions had sudden death overtimes?
I say in chess, if the game ends in a draw, we should reset the pieces with only kings, pawns, knights, and bishops, and play through that. If it's just a league game, if it ends in a draw there, it's a tie, or if it's a tournament game, they just do it again and again until there's a winner. If it goes into that, then the winner should get one point, and the loser should still get the half point. (wins in chess are 1 point, ties are 1/2, losses are 0)
