Well, I'm here. Everything's unpacked, and I'm pretty much settled in here. The room actually is really great, compared to last year's (one of the older buildings on campus). The room walls are painted, the closet's not in an awkward corner, there are drawers under the bed, I get a good view on the second floor, and more. I kinda wish the desk would face the window, but that's a minor gripe. Pictures are up on the flickr page if you want to see the new room. You'll notice it's clean. Maybe it'll stay that way this year. :P

It's quiet right now. The first years are all doing their orientation thing, which is most of the people here, so it's kinda empty, other than the occasional person moving in every once in a while.

Oh, and despite what I said about waiting a little longer, I tried to get my iMac today. No luck. The computer store's all sold out. I think I'll try and get it online. I was debating getting an older model (same size, same price, no cool shiny metallic look), but the graphics card is a bit dated even though the processor is 0.16 GHz faster, so I dunno about it.

I thought you were gonna wait for the September 5th announcement...

(Oh yeah, and use post titles! It makes it a lot easier for those of us who use Google Homepage)

Yay for being settled! I'm glad you like your new room :) Feels kinda empty-ish here, with everyone leaving... Ooh, that reminds me. Check this out: http://goblak.blogspot.com . I finally convinced someone to join the ranks of the bloggers! I'm planning to do some more traveling this year... Apparently it has some health benefits. Something about relaxing or whatnot... lol. In such a case, a stop in Victoria is definitely in order! ;)

Comment 1: I figured it out this way: if September 5th is an iPod announcement, it wouldn't matter because I'm going to get rid of the free one anyway (especially if I can just return it to the store, but that's unlikely), if it's a laptop announcement (a month earlier than you thought), I don't care because I'm not getting one, and it can't be an iMac announcement because they just did that. The flaw in this is that I didn't realize I might actually want to keep the iPod (and try to sell off my old one) if they upgrade it. I think I'll (even more painfully than usual) wait till Wednesday before doing anything.

Comment 2: Yay! That goes for multiple things in that comment.

Yeah, I suppose. But even if you want to sell the iPod, if it's a brand new revamped iPod, you'll get a lot more for it.

Of course, there's a good chance Apple will make the promotion such that you get one of the current iPods. But still, I'd wait till then just in case.

I suppose that also means that the value of older iPods will drop... but you probably wouldn't be able to sell an iPod before Wednesday anyways.
