Well, I've been getting ready for classes coming up in the next while. I just got back in Victoria tonight, and the onslaught begins tomorrow.
Oh, by the way, I now loathe the Victoria bus system. They cancel the express to UVic for the summer, despite it being the last day before classes start, due to a lack of people using it. I personally don't take it all the way myself, but it does stop awfully close to my place. Couldn't they bring it back just for one day? It's probably a fairly busy one. That being said, I guess the people taking the summer semester probably wouldn't be on campus this time. Second, I've been away for two weeks, from the end of April to the start of May. Guess what? My bus pass expires on April 30 and there's no way to renew it until I get to UVic. To top that off, I didn't have the foresight to have cash on me and once I'm off the boat, I'm in a rush to pull a 20 out of the ATM (complete with ding), change it, and pay for the bus that way. I don't like how it takes well over an hour to get home when it takes less than half an hour to go straight to the terminal (though that's liveable, I guess), and that because there was a headlight out on the bus and how it had to make stops just a bit more often, I miss my transfer by about five minutes. I don't like how sometimes there can be two stops within about a hundred meters of each other because apparently it's way too far to walk across the street, and there are people that have to get off at both of them. A little exercise is good for you, isn't it?
Anyway, I'm done ranting. It's actually not that bad, and at its best, it's a decent form of transportation, and it's a lot cheaper than a car. At least it's better than the Abbotsford bus system, but then again, there's probably a reason why I've never seen a full bus riding it, despite the general lack of buses that go from point A to point B. Less buses means more people per bus, right? Right?
