I went to a Super Smash Bros. tournament today at SFU. For those that think I'm really good, I was thinking the same thing about most of the people that were playing today. That's how good some of these people are. Justin came with me, and we got eliminated pretty quickly on whatever we entered. We teamed for Melee 2v2s, and most of the time, we got beat pretty bad, though we lost 2-1 in a best of 3 to some guys I play with in Victoria, and only because I picked a crazy stage for round 2 (Poke Floats, for those who care), and made it last a bit longer. We also lost pretty quick in Smash 64 doubles, but I was getting used to a 64 controller as I went, and I just sucked during pretty much all of it. I got destroyed pretty quickly in Melee singles (though the match that had me eliminated I only lost by one stock, and I was down three stocks to one for a part of it). By the end of it, I was too tired to do too much and I just lost quickly in the Brawl singles division, even though I had a bit of a chance.

Overall, I think I did okay. I didn't win as much as I had hoped to in friendly matches, and I didn't get as many games as I had wanted to for someone that was there for a long time. I'm mostly disappointed with the way I was playing, but I think I can do better next time. I personally like Melee a bit more than Brawl, but I think it's just because I've been playing it for longer. I'll get better in time. Right now I'm happy I drove all the way there and back.
