Life's been interesting right now. Work's been going pretty well, now that I'm researching something interesting. I'm trying to get an article going on the old band festival that Abbotsford used to have. It was an amazing thing, having started in 1959, when all of a sudden, after a successful year in 1993, it was abruptly cancelled from there. It's too bad, because in 1990, they were saying it was the city's second biggest event next to the airshow. It's been cool going through and finding news on why it met such a sudden demise (though searching the news section of every paper from May to November of 1993 trying to find any news whatsoever gets very tedious). More to come when I actually write the article.

On a less work-related note, I've started playing chess again. Since getting a flickr account made me (with great difficulty) sign up for a Yahoo account, I might as well use it for other things and I've started to play chess on Yahoo again. I'm also trying to get better at go, though that game is so hard to get good at.

Random thought: one day I'd love to be in one of those cars with one of those crazy sound systems with subwoofers that probably take up more energy than the car itself does, and I'd do what people seem to like doing with them: open all the windows and turn it up. The only difference between what I'd do and what they do is I'd blare out classical music so people might be to confused to actually yell at me. Something light and bouncy would work really well for that.

My cousin has actually blown speakers listening to classical music.

Ha! That is something that I would love to see! I think I would laugh for a while just watching people's reactions... :D
