So, I thought now would be a good time to update my resume for the next work term and I decide to take a look at the jobs that are available. Most of them are the usual kinds of stuff (and I'm sure more would pop up), but two of them caught my eye. I've said before that I'd like to get a co-op job in the games industry. Not a career, just a co-op job. It sounds like it would be fun and I'd still learn a lot about developing commercial software. One of them was Blue Castle Games, something I've been looking at in the past but now I feel really qualified for it given past experience and the courses I'm taking. The other really interested me. EA is looking for people. EA bought BioWare sometime ago, and they're a company I hold great respect towards, being one of the top employers in Canada (not just for gaming), and continuously making really good games (they're making a Sonic RPG right now! I might be working on that!). They're hiring co-op students. Granted, it's in Edmonton, but I'd go for that any day. And besides, EA also has offices in Burnaby (the people that work on the NHL games and stuff), right next to where my dad works, so that's an option as well.
Actually there was one more that interested me, but I don't have the qualifications for it, yet. Next Level Games was also looking for people. They're also in Vancouver, and they're also considered one of the best Canadian employers, they made Super Mario Strikers (the one on the Cube and the Wii), which I have played and very much enjoyed. Unfortunately, they want three years and two work terms, so not yet. But definitely something to look out for.

It's cool that there are so many opportunities that are not only totally up your alley, but close by! I really hope that you get a coop position with one of them:)
